Kinkaku-ji is an impressive structure built to overlook a pond, with its top two floors entirely covered in gold leaf, making it truly breathtakingly beautiful. It was built to echo the extravagant Kitayama culture that developed in the wealthy aristocratic circles of Kyoto during shogun(military leader )Yoshimitsu’s times.

Kiyomizu Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, Yasaka Shrine

Kiyomizu-temple is very popular spot known for its “Kiyomizu-no-Butai”(stage of Kiyomizu) that has nice views of the numerous cherry blossoms and maple trees below in spring and fall, as well as of the city of Kyoto in the distance. After visiting Kiyomizu-temple, take a stroll to Yasaka-shrine while enjoying Kyoto cityscape and historical atmosphere.

Gion District

Gion is one of “Hana-machi” district in Kyoto where there are many “Ocha-ya-san(tea houses)”. You may encounter “maiko” dressed in colorful kimonos in this district. Wherever you turn, you will encounter scenic views, and there are a variety of nightspots, from quiet sake bars to lively izakaya (Japanese-style pubs).

Fushimi Inari

Fushimi Inari Taisha is a famous Shinto shrine located in Kyoto, Japan. It is best known for its thousands of bright red torii gates that form beautiful trails up Mount Inari. The shrine is dedicated to Inari, the god of rice, business, and prosperity. Many visitors also come to see the fox statues, which are believed to be messengers of the god. Fushimi Inari is open 24 hours and is especially beautiful in the early morning or evening.
